About Jimmy- One of the few pitching coaches to have-pitched, coached, instructed and does video analysis in our area
Jimmy pitched competitive softball for the Old Friends, Charlie's and the Delta Rebels in the '80 and mid '90's. Jimmy was the pitching coach at Ceres high school from 1991-1998, Central Valley Sacrafice 18's in the mid 90's and Modesto Junior College from 1998-2005. We are proud of the fact that 95% of our students that start with us and continue to pitch stay with us... all the way thru their college days. We are one of the few instructors that can and have worked at all levels, beginning, intermeiate, and all the way up to college DI.
Jimmy's mentors... I give credit to two individuals that have taught me how to teach. Phil de la Porte- Phil coached college basketball at Idaho State and Ceres H.S. for over 35 years! Phil told me one time " you know your stuff but you need to have an agenda". Mike "Otto" Thill- Otto would wait on my front porch every Sat or Sunday to work-out. This went on for years! Then when Otto moved to Montana he told me you have two students. He introduced me to them and left. From then on I was giving pitching lessons if I wasn't playing myself.
Jimmy Dyson's Pitching School is unique in how we conduct our lessons... We learn and haveFun! We Video- the student is the Star. We have structured Workouts - Some times as long as an hour and thirty minutes. Students have to compete. Students pitch next to some of the best college and high school pitchers in northern California! Parents and students are able to view the ball flight to the catchers on our TV monitors... You hear "WOW" throughout the Academy. Students have access to counselor, coaches, and parents that have been there, done that! Jimmy's does not charge his students for their college pitching DVD.
