I am one of the few pitching instructors that do not have the students bring a catcher. If you know how to read the ball, you can make a guesstimate on what is happening in the motion. You can ask my parents, I have and can... catch a Marissa Drewery (Cal Berkeley, pitched in the super regional that was broadcast on ESPN, losing in the 9th inning to #1 Florida) pitching in the 67-68 range... I can still instruct her... to a degree ! I believe I can see (catching/instructing) as good as any pitching coach in the country. Their is no way I will see everything in the pitching motion without video! I show proof why it is important to video the pitching motion! I will have a short video on one of our students pitching motion...Otto was at my house when I was making her DVD. We had a 4 view with 2 different angles... at a certain point in the pitch I asked Otto "what do you think"? I will have Otto's remarks on that day with this video... I know it just reinforced our belief of videoing! We will be offering the students Motion Capture Analysis online in the near future. The student will be able to upload or e-mail me game or practice video... We will be able to telestrate with voice over- the pitching motion using the internet, no travel time or playing phone tag trying to figure what is wrong! We will have a game plan on what to work on before and at the next lesson. I will be offering a hitting DVD with your swing next to Crystol Bustos, Stacey Nuevman or Jessica Mendosa to name a few... very reasonable cost!
